Nestled in the heart of Hellerup, Park Lane Copenhagen is more than just a boutique hotel, it is history, design, and understated luxury. Once home to the beloved Strand Teatret, where silent films flickered across the screen, and later a private members’ club for the city’s creatives, this grand building has always been a place where stories unfold.
Today, in 2025, a new chapter begins. Restored with care and transformed with vision, Park Lane Copenhagen bridges the past and the present, blending cultural heritage with contemporary edge. Every corner whisper history, every detail a proof of quality.
THE STORY OF STRAND TEATRET
In the early 20th century, the very space where Park Lane Copenhagen stands today was home to Strand Teatret, a local cinema where audiences were transported to other worlds for the price of just 0.55 DKK. It was a time when cinema was magic, and storytelling was everything.
Though the curtains fell for the last time in the 1970s, the spirit of Strand Teatret lives on. We embrace this legacy by continuing to craft unforgettable experiences for our guests, where every stay feels like stepping into a rich narrative.
PRESERVING A PIECE OF HISTORY
Beyond its cinematic past, this historic building has also served as a local hotel, welcoming guests for decades. During its transformation into Park Lane Copenhagen, we made it our mission to preserve the essence of its heritage.
Original architectural details, ornate stucco ceilings, grand chandeliers, and rich wooden paneling, have been carefully restored, breathing new life into the ballroom-turned-suites. The result is a space where history echo, and luxury feels warm.
